She Loves to Cook, and She Loves to Eat Vol. 1
By: Sakaomi Yuzaki
Cozy meals, soft moments, and a relationship that slowly unfolds with warmth— She Loves to Cook, and She Loves to Eat Vol. 1 feels like comfort food in manga form. It’s sweet and inviting while also thoughtfully exploring identity, expectations, and what it means to feel truly comfortable with someone.
♡ My Review
I bought this one for my own shelves and immediately loved how warm it felt. Yuki Nomoto loves cooking, especially making the kind of big homemade meals she always imagined—but living alone means she rarely gets to fully enjoy that.
Then her neighbor Totoko Kasuga enters the picture. Kasuga quietly appreciates food in a way that feels genuine and grounding, and the two slowly begin sharing meals together. Their relationship builds naturally through dinner, conversation, and simply spending time together.
One of my favorite parts of this volume is how gentle everything feels. The food scenes are comforting, but there’s also emotional honesty underneath it. The manga thoughtfully touches on expectations placed on women, sexuality, and the pressure of what people consider “normal.”
Nothing feels rushed. The pacing stays soft and realistic, which makes the emotional moments hit even harder. The chemistry between Nomoto and Kasuga feels natural and really lovely to watch unfold.
This volume felt comforting in the best way, and I’m really happy I picked it up.

She Loves to Cook, and She Loves to Eat Vol. 1 is warm, comforting, and emotionally sincere. The food brings the story together, but the heart of the manga is watching Nomoto and Kasuga slowly build trust and connection through everyday moments.
