What makes the danmei version so special to me is how much room it has to breathe. The emotional complexity between Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji feels earned, the pain of misunderstandings cuts deeper, and the cultivation world itself feels layered instead of decorative. You get the ache, the devotion, the quiet tenderness, and the full weight of everything these characters survive.
