This one feels soft, aching, and beautifully bittersweet. I loved how it takes the familiar sadness of The Little Mermaid and transforms it into a modern BL romance with emotional weight.
Aito’s fear of love makes him easy to sympathize with, because romance for him is tied to pain and trauma. Toru brings warmth into the story and slowly becomes someone who feels safe rather than overwhelming.
The atmosphere is one of the strongest parts. It feels dreamy, watery, and tender while still carrying sadness underneath everything.
Instead of only retelling a fairy tale, it explores what emotional scars from the past can do to someone in the present.
College setting, music themes, mermaid memories, soft romance, emotional healing, and a very pretty atmosphere.
