Evil lurks beneath the most beautiful surfaces in this tense romantic thriller about dating apps, manipulation, obsession, and the horrifying moment when the person you trust most becomes the person you fear.

Mini Synopsis

At 32, Yuki Sato is determined to marry for the sake of her ailing father, whose dream is to see her in a wedding dress. When she meets the handsome and successful Yoji through a dating app, he seems like the answer to everything.

But when Shun Majima confronts Yuki about his brother’s mysterious death, her perfect romance begins to crack. As Yoji’s lies unravel, Yuki is pulled into the darker side of Tokyo, where love, deceit, and danger are tangled together.

My Thoughts

This volume was an absolute whirlwind. I was on the edge of my seat from beginning to end, and the cliffhanger left me desperate for Volume 2.

What made this story hit so hard was how eerie and realistically scary it felt. Yoji is not frightening because he is loud or over-the-top. He is frightening because he feels believable. His calm smile, unreadable expressions, and quiet manipulation made every scene with him feel tense.

The moment he took Yuki’s picture without her consent was the point where my alarms fully went off. His face in that scene was so unsettling because you cannot tell what he is thinking behind that monotone smile. It made him feel unpredictable, dangerous, and deeply creepy.

I also loved how the story slowly shifts from romance into psychological thriller. Yuki’s fear, confusion, and desperation felt painfully real, while Shun’s presence added mystery, tension, and emotional conflict. By the end, I was fully invested in uncovering the truth behind Yoji.

Why Read It?

  • A tense blend of romance, mystery, and psychological thriller.
  • Yoji is genuinely unsettling in a realistic way.
  • The dating app and digital deception angle feels modern and scary.
  • The cliffhanger ending will leave you needing Volume 2 immediately.
