Kirio Fan Club Volume 1
Kirio Fan Club is a Japanese shojo/josei manga by Chikyu no Osakana Ponchan centered on two best friends, Aimi and Nami, who are both hopelessly fixated on the same boy, Kirio. What follows is a mix of absurd crush behavior, surreal humor, and school-life comedy, with the story leaning just as much on the girls’ friendship as it does their rivalry.
Aimi and Nami are best friends, but they are also rivals when it comes to their oblivious classmate, Kirio. Both girls obsess over him in their own over-the-top ways, leading to ridiculous situations, dramatic reactions, and a whole lot of hilarious energy. Even with that setup, the heart of the series is not just the crush itself, but the way the two girls remain connected through it.
- Main Manga Serialization Serialized via Comic Ruelle from June 24, 2022 to August 9, 2024.
- Tankobon Release Window Compiled into 6 volumes in Japan from December 15, 2022 to September 19, 2024.
- Spin-Off A five-chapter spin-off ran from October 18, 2024 to February 21, 2025 and was collected into one volume released April 17, 2025.
- English Licensing Kodansha USA announced the English license during Anime Expo 2025, beginning in Q2 2026.
Even though the premise sounds like a classic rivalry setup, the series is notably more interested in the bond between Aimi and Nami than in turning them into true enemies. Their mutual pining over Kirio becomes the foundation for their friendship dynamic, and the story often treats Kirio less like a deeply explored love interest and more like the center of the girls’ wildly entertaining obsession.
