This semi-grand prize winning oneshot surprised me; in the best way. Despite having so few pages, it delivers an emotional punch and a charming story about love that transcends appearances.
We follow Arwen, an adventurer who breaks a seal in a ruined castle and meets Luria, a cursed princess turned into a skeleton. The curse can only be broken by a kiss from someone who truly loves her. As Arwen spends time with Luria, a bond forms between them. Even when they encounter her cursed, mindless parents, victims of the same necromancer, he stays by her side.
I won’t spoil the ending, but let’s just say the tragedy tag exists for a reason. Still, this was such a meaningful read. It reminds us that love isn’t about looks, it’s about heart, connection, and time spent together. 💘
