Roulette Review — Priscilla’s Marriage Proposal | Blush & Pixels

Overview

Spunky mercenary mage Priscilla Mortia sets out on her final mission: to reclaim the last 15 years of her tragic life. Using a mana stone called the Dragon Heart, she travels back in time to when her family ruled over the land. While Priscilla’s goal is to reawaken her magical powers by obtaining the Dragon Heart in the past, she must survive the sinister plots of her wicked stepmother and her elderly fiancé. To aid in her quest she seeks out Kian Lustin, a renowned swordsman who once captured her heart. But why does their fateful first meeting seem strangely familiar? Can Priscilla finally gain Kian’s allegiance and claim her rightful seat as the heir to House Mortia?

My Review

7/10

First Impressions

Reading this story, I get why some comments say “nothing happens.” For a while, the FL breezes through obstacles using knowledge from her past life. It does pick up later, though; the author spends a long time setting the board. Once a few pieces move, the momentum improves and the chapters remain enjoyable even without heavy struggle from the FL.

Where It Stumbles

  • Main conflict resolves early: The plotline around her mother gets resolved fast, so there’s little lingering anticipation.
  • Low stakes: Nothing truly goes wrong for Priscilla, so you rarely worry about the outcome.
  • Romance development feels light: The contract marriage quickly turns lovey-dovey. Without stronger build-up, the sweetness can feel repetitive.
  • Pacing issues: A chapter of back-to-back loyalty pledges (around ch. 29) stalled the story for me.

What Still Works

  • Power fantasy & competence: If you enjoy a highly capable heroine, Priscilla delivers.
  • Clean, pretty visuals: The art is pleasant, even if it doesn’t always carry weaker beats.
  • Romance comfort: Once the couple is together, the fluff factor is high.

TL;DR

Average webtoon drama vibes overall, but still a cozy read if you want low-stress fantasy romance with a competent FL and gentle couple moments.
