The Villainessโs Maker
Overview
Yoon Haneul has always been a pushoverโฆ until she wakes up as Aila Mertensia, the villainess of a novel she wrote ten years ago. Forced into a time loop, she canโt escape until she learns how to act like the villainess everyone expects. When a mysterious warlock, Killian, appears with an offer to train her into a โproperโ villainess, Aila realizes that surviving her own story requires far more audacityโand dangerโthan she ever wrote.
Main Characters
- Aila Mertensia / Yoon Haneul โ A former people-pleaser and anxious author thrown into a villainess role she absolutely wasnโt built for.
- Killian โ An immortal warlock with a grudge against God and a dangerously addictive design. The standout male lead.
- Duke Vincent Mertensia โ Ailaโs strict father whose cold parenting style makes her already fragile composure crumble faster.
- Aslan Mertensia โ The older brother. Loyal, supportive, and quietly trying to keep the family from falling apart.
- Ailaโs Younger Brother โ Soft, glasses-wearing, adorable energy. One of the few bright spots in Ailaโs life.
- Polanc โ The palace designer with theatrical flair. Dramatic, loud, and iconicโhe shapes Ailaโs villainess persona better than anyone.
- Archmage Septimus โ Cold, brilliant, and one of the OG male leads. Deeply tied to divine magic and underused in the final act.
- Prince Verner โ The OG novelโs main male lead. Charming in theory, frustrating in execution. Too easily manipulated.
- Charlotte Angelo โ The OG heroine and peak โwhite lotus.โ Manipulative, petty, and never redeemed in a satisfying way.
- Princess Cordelia โ Vernerโs older sister. Sharp, political, regal, and Ailaโs frequent opponent.
- Sir Lenox โ Vernerโs knight and OG male lead. Stoic, loyal, subtly protectiveโclassic knight archetype done well.
- Duke Trandia โ Another OG male lead. Elegant, charismatic, and clearly designed to be fan-favorite material despite limited screen time.
