Summary

After stealing a wallet on a train ride, pickpocket Jimmy believes he’s gotten away scot-free. However, his luck runs out when Reese Heyman, a sharp-eyed former detective, catches him red-handed. Rather than turn him in, Reese orders him to work at a bookstore for a day.

Jimmy, humiliated, vows revenge and attempts to rob Reese’s apartment—only to discover his would-be victim’s painful past as a retired cop. Over time, guilt turns to fascination, and their connection deepens as both men wrestle with loneliness, trauma, and unexpected tenderness.

My Thoughts

This was my first time reading CTK’s work, and it did not disappoint. The character designs are masculine yet soft — realistic and expressive. The emotions feel grounded, with the older character acting his age and the younger one still showing a sense of youthful impulsiveness. Everything about their chemistry feels human and honest.

The story carries a quiet heaviness, yet it’s still gentle and intimate. CTK balances slice-of-life pacing with emotional maturity and raw eroticism. I only wish there had been a bit more exploration of their day-to-day lives outside of the bedroom — though, the uncensored art truly brings their connection to life.

The side story, is more explicit, serving as a short smut chapter between Jimmy and Reese. There is also an Extra Side Story that features 2 other characters Ian and Charles. It adds a nice parallel to the main story, offering a lighter emotional tone.

Main Characters

Reese Heyman

Reese Heyman – (Uke/Bottom) A former detective working at a bookstore. Calm, guarded, and emotionally complex, he carries trauma from his partner’s murder and struggles to move forward. Despite his stoicism, he’s intuitive and compassionate, often understanding Jimmy better than Jimmy understands himself.

Jimmy

Jimmy –(Seme/Top) A young pickpocket drifting through life until his fateful encounter with Reese. Though reckless, he’s not malicious — his curiosity and guilt turn into genuine affection. Jimmy’s sincerity contrasts Reese’s guarded nature, making their dynamic deeply emotional.

Side Story: Lucky Bill

Ian Stewart

Ian Stewart – (Seme/Top) An agent who once dreamed of acting but gave up after realizing his lack of talent. He secretly admired Charles from their school days and now helps him reignite his career.

Charles Rupp

Charles Rupp – (Uke/Bottom) An actor struggling to find work. Five years after scolding Ian for his unserious attitude, they reunite under bittersweet circumstances. Through Ian’s support, Charles rediscovers his passion for acting.
